WELCOME TO THE ASHBURTON WILLOWS CRICKET CLUB 

Ashburton Willows Cricket Club is an inclusive, warm and friendly cricket club based at Ferndale Park in Glen Iris and Ashburton Park in Ashburton. With a storied history dating back to 1876, our junior and senior cricket programs cater for anyone to have fun and be part of our great community!

We are a proud gold medal Good Sports club

We want everyone to feel welcome and included at our club. Through Good Sports we are committed to managing alcohol and smoking responsibly, holding safe celebrations and making sure everyone arrives home safely. All this helps us to provide a strong, safe and family-friendly environment.

Winning aspiration 2023-2026

Ashburton Willows Cricket Club will be a safe and fun environment where any cricketer will be given the best chance to compete and develop. We will strive to win and play with pride representing our Club's remarkable history.

Strategic priorities

Have the most welcoming and organised junior program, developing great young adults for our community.

Key focuses:

  • Retention of key junior coaches and team managers

  • Priority partnerships with local clubs, communities and associations

  • Establish fool-proof governance practices and club operations resourcing.

Create a deep connection and engagement with every single Club member.

Key focuses:

  • Appointment and support of appropriate senior coach and captains

  • Reiteration of relevant selection policies, competition structures and team gradings

  • Drive a 'one Club' culture complemented by clear communications practices and social activities.

Ensure financial, facility and volunteer stability to allow for strategic investment in the Club's long term investment.

Key focuses:

  • Encourage all Club members to promote and explore community sponsorship (and 1876 Club) opportunities

  • Reset Club committee structure and sub groups to align with 'tomorrow challenges'

  • Partner with Council to steer Ashburton and Ferndale Park redevelopment projects.
